Restoration is repair, honing, polishing, and sealing — done in the right order, on the entire surface. Since 1997 we've restored marble in Virginia's oldest homes and newest high-rises, returning stone most people assumed had to be torn out.
Most "marble polishing" is a single pass with a spinner and a topical shine. True restoration addresses damage, structure, and finish — in sequence.
We identify the stone, the damage type, and the finish already on it — then polish a test area so you can approve the result before we commit to the whole floor.
Old topical coatings, wax, soil, and mineral buildup removed. You can't polish over a coating — it has to come off first, or the finish will peel.
Cracks, chips, and gouges filled with color-matched epoxy; lippage ground flat; failed grout replaced. The surface must be sound before it's polished.
Progressive diamond abrasives from coarse to fine across the whole surface — not spot work — producing a uniform matte hone or a mirror polish with no halos.
Penetrating sealer — including Stainzero hard water protection — applied after polishing so the finish is protected, not sealed under damage.
We inspect every square inch together and leave you with simple care instructions so the finish stays.

Order matters. Sealing a cracked or etched surface locks the damage in permanently — that's why restoration is always repair first, polish second, seal last.
Replacement means demolition, disposal, new slabs, installation labor, and weeks of disruption — plus a floor or top that will never match the original veining.
Virginia has irreplaceable stone: 1920s foyers, mid-century terrazzo lobbies, imported slabs installed decades ago. Restoration keeps it where it belongs.
We restore the marble itself. No topical film that scuffs and peels within a season.
Most residential restorations finish quickly, with dust control and no demolition debris.
Most of our Virginia work comes from word of mouth — realtors, designers, property managers and neighbors.
